Upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty is a procedure that rejuvenates the “aging eyes”. There is sagging and wrinkling of the upper eyelid skin with partial obstruction of the peripheral vision. The patient looks tired and old. There is weakness and laxity of the septal wall and muscles of the lower eyelids causing the underlying orbital fats to bulge out. Laxity and wrinkling of the lower eyelid skin also accompanies the condition.
The surgery involves, removal of the bulging fat, trimming of the “excess” skin. Restoration of normal upper eyelid fold and closure with tightening for the lower eyelid skin.
